God
to
Isaac,
"I will
multiply
your
descendants
as the
stars of
heaven,
and will
give
your
descendants
all
these
lands;
and by
your
descendants
all the
nations
of the
earth
shall be
blessed;
because
(your
father)
Abraham
obeyed
Me and
kept My
charge,
My
Commandments,
My
statues
and My
Laws."
Genesis
26:4-5
We learn
from our
text
today,
that not
only was
Isaac
blessed
greatly
because
of the
faithful
life of
his
father
Abraham,
but that
all the
nations
of the
earth
are
blessed
because
of his
life.
Abraham
became
such a
blessing
because
He
obeyed
God and
kept His
Commandments.
Galatians
Chapter
3 tells
us that
even the
Gospel
was
preached
to
Abraham
beforehand
-
meaning
that
people
from all
nations
would
one day
come to
God as
they
followed
the
example
of
Abraham,
the
father
of the
faithful,
-"Therefore,
be sure
that it
is those
who are
of faith
who are
sons of
Abraham"
(vs 7)
"And if
you
belong
to
Christ,
then you
are
Abraham’s
descendants,
heirs
according
to
promise."
(Vs 29)
If
you are
a born
again
Christian,
then you
have
been
blessed
by the
power of
this one
life. In
fact,
Abraham’s
Covenant
of
Promise
is the
Christian
Covenant
the
saints
have
entered
into.
When a
person
comes to
Christ
he no
longer
lives
but
Christ
lives
His life
in him.
This is
why Paul
said
that the
works
you do "is
God who
is at
work in
you." In
the
modern
Church
today
the idea
of
having
"works"
is
falsely
taught
as if
you were
earning
your
salvation
apart
from
Christ -
but in
truth,
Christ
in you
will
live His
perfect
life in
you
which
will
automatically
produce
good
works if
not
quenched,
-"Let
your
light
shine
before
men in
such a
way that
they may
see your
good
works
and
glorify
your
Father
who is
in
heaven."
(Matt.5:16) God
receives
the
glory
because
the good
works
are His
ways and
really
His life
producing
them in
you. It
is
amazing
to see
the
power
one life
can
have.
Abraham
is
called
the
father
of the
faithful
but this
does not
mean he
had no
works.
James
wrote
explaining
that
Abraham
had
works,
and
faith
without
works is
a dead
faith.
Faith
actually
produces
good
works
which
brings
blessings
to
others.
It is
staggering
to see
the
power of
one
life.
God
created
you to
make a
difference
too. And
you
certainly
will,
one way
or the
other.
Your
life
will
have a
lasting
legacy
and will
affect
the
lives of
many.
Adam
had the
power to
bring
blessings
to
mankind
or to
bring
about
the
curse of
death.
His life
had
tremendous
power
and
because
he did
not obey
his
Creator,
suffering
and
death
came to
all of
us.
We have
all
tasted
the
bitterness
of
suffering
and
death
which
resulted
from
Adam’s
one life
and the
deadly
choice
he made,
and even
now
understand
that we
are all
living
to die
because
of his
choice,
-"So
then as
through
one
transgression
there
resulted
condemnation
to all
men." That’s
the bad
news,
but the
good
news is
that
Jesus,
the
"last
Adam" (1
Cor.15)
made the
choice
to pay
that
penalty
for
those
who
would
receive
Him, -"even
so
through
one act
of
righteousness
there
resulted
justification
of life
to all
men."
(Romans
5:18) Hallelujah!
Let us
not fail
to
receive
Him and
let Him
live His
righteous
life in
us.
King
David
brought
blessings
to
Israel
when he
walked
in
obedience
before
the Lord
and
curses,
wrath
and
death
when he
disobeyed.
David’s
life had
power
which
had an
affect
on an
entire
nation.
Perhaps
our
lives
will
never
have the
power of
Abraham,
Adam or
David,
but we
will
influence
many by
how we
live
during
our
lifetime. "Life-Time";
that is
an
interesting
word. It
refers
to the
duration
of time
we live
on the
earth.
What we
do with
this
time
will
either
help or
hinder
others
and will
determine
our
eternal
destination.
The
purpose
of your
life is
to be
God’s
greatest
testimony
to
others.
The
greatest
life of
all is
living
in you
if you
are a
Christian.
Yield to
Him.
Obey
Him. Let
Him live
His
powerful
life in
you.
