Satan’s most effective lies are those
that sound true. There’s a philosophical
argument going around in this postmodern
period that the Church is a "hospital."
Being a hospital then you should expect
to find every type of "sinful disease"
including immortality, adultery,
addictions, criminal activity, etc. And
that’s the true Church and if that
offends you then you are self-righteous
and should stay away.
There are plenty
of Bible examples of this being a false
concept-the first that came to my mind
was in 1 Corinthians 5 where the Apostle
tells the Church it’s not good that they
are tolerating a man practicing
immorality and they should put him out
because "a little leaven will spread and
leaven the whole Church."
The Spirit also reminded me of Paul
saying that these sinful acts should not
even be named among the Church.
In Chapter 6 the Apostle wrote that
those who practice sin will not inherit
the Kingdom of God. "Adultery",
"fornication", "homosexuals" and
"drunkards’ are among the sins
mentioned. Paul goes on to say "Such
were some of you, but you were washed. .
.sanctified. . .and justified."
But let’s examine this false
philosophical teaching by using simple
philosophical logic. If you had a life
threatening sickness that would require
treatment in a hospital-which hospital
would you choose to trust with your
life? Would you consider a hospital that
was filled with sick people who weren’t
being nursed to health? One that had a
poor record of success. Of course you
would not. You would conclude that
something is very wrong. That the
doctors, nurses and technicians in that
hospital are not doing their job in
helping people to good health.
If you were there to get healthy then
it wouldn’t satisfy you if they merely
treated you with kind words as they
comforted you in your sickness. You
would want more than having your
emotional state being tenderly stroked
while the disease that is killing you is
silently neglected.
