"My son, give
attention to my words; incline your ear
to My sayings. Do not let them depart
from your sight; Keep them in the midst
of your heart. For they are life to
those who find them, and health to their
body." Proverbs 4:20-22
God’s Word is health to the whole body.
God has provided Word seeds to save the
soul, comfort the troubled, encourage
and strengthen the weak, and to bring
health to the body. Our text says, -"Do
not let them depart from your sight;
keep them in the midst of your heart."
God’s Word must be received and acted
upon in faith. Don’t allow the devil to
distract you. When we attend to God’s
Words - not letting them depart but
keeping them in our hearts, we have
provided good soil. It will bring forth
good fruit. Just as all natural seeds
work beneath the surface, we must
believe what we do not yet see and know
that God’s seed is at work - soon we
will see the sprout.
When your eyes are on your symptoms and
your mind is occupied with them more
than with God’s Word, you have in the
soil the wrong kind of seed which will
not produce the harvest you want. The
devil will sow tares in your mind if you
let him. He will sow seeds of doubt. The
devil is a liar and a deceiver. He
doesn’t just deceive with lying words
but also deceives using lying wonders -
outward manifestations.
The end-time false prophet will use
lying wonders to deceive the whole world
during the tribulation - so it shouldn’t
surprise us if Satan tries to deceive us
today with lying symptoms. Obviously,
some symptoms are real and God provides
healing for them, but some may be lying
signs sent to deceive us. Let us receive
the Word, the true Seed and reject the
lying words/seeds from the devil.
Since each seed reproduces after it’s
own kind, a seed of doubt can never grow
a blessing, -"But
he must ask in faith without doubting,
for the one who doubts is like the surf
of the sea, driven and tossed by the
wind. For that man ought not to expect
that he will receive anything from the
Lord." (James 1) A
tare is a weed, and it is impossible to
sow tares and reap wheat. The Bible and
even nature itself teaches that we reap
whatever we sow.
Your symptoms may point you to death,
but God’s Word will point you to life.
Jesus often asked the sick, -"Do
you believe?" We
must believe to receive.
We rid ourselves of doubt when we look
intently and steadfastly at the inerrant
Word of the Living God and know that He
cannot lie. Lying spirits will speak
into our consciousness, but seeing only
what God says will produce and increase
our faith. We can get to the point where
it is easier to believe than to doubt.
